A balm for
a better world.

Mission

BITCHSTIX is a self-care brand that cares about people, communities, and the world.

People are at the heart of our mission.
BITCHSTIX exists to inspire people to overcome oppressive circumstances, declare their independence, and pursue their dreams. To that end, your BITCHSTIX purchase helps support survivors of domestic abuse and sexual assault.

Communities are where we do our work.
BITCHSTIX retailers know their communities better than anyone else. So we rely on them to identify the domestic abuse and sexual assault prevention programs in their cities that are most in need of financial support.

Our goal is to build a better world.
From our support of assault and abuse survivors to our commitment to using safe, eco-friendly ingredients that do no harm to our environment, BITCHSTIX is committed to making a net-positive impact on the world.

Bitchstix

Why "BITCH?"

On her journey to the Supreme Court, Ruth Bader Ginsburg became known among some of her male colleagues as “Bitch.” When she found out, she responded: “Better a bitch than a mouse.”

Our line of cruelty-free lip and body balms are backed by a mission: To awaken people to their self-worth, and to encourage them to live boldly and courageously. We do this in two ways:

  • By putting “BITCH” in the name of a product that soothes and restores. We’re appropriating a word that has historically been used to inflict shame, and attaching it to an agent of restoration.
  • By putting our money where our mouth is. BITCHSTIX donates to retailer-nominated nonprofit organizations that support survivors of domestic abuse and sexual assault.

BITCHSTIX is more than just a balm. It’s a call to action to transform a “bad” word into a force for good. It’s a one-of-a-kind product that seeks to inspire, empower, and change lives for the better.

How We Give

Each November, in addition to the thousands of dollars in product we give to support organizations through auction items, fundraisers, and special events, we ask our amazing retailers to nominate nonprofits in their area that support survivors of domestic abuse and/or sexual assault. After nominations are in, our team carefully reviews and chooses two nonprofits we feel best align with our mission.

As a small woman-owned business, we are humbled to be able to give unrestricted cash gifts each year to such deserving nonprofits. Each chosen nonprofit is able to use the funding however they feel best supports survivors and their organizational needs.
